Cristiano Ronaldo: I am proud to have scored in five World Cups

Cristiano Ronaldo broke into the deadlock from the spot Portugal’s 3-2 win over Ghana on Thursday and with this goal he became the first player to find the back of the net in five different World Cups.

After his team’s victory Ronaldo expressed his joy at breaking another record at the age of 37.

“Scoring for a fifth consecutive World Cup is a source of great pride,” Ronaldo said after the game.

“It’s a good moment, it’s my fifth World Cup.

“We won, it’s a very important win.

“We know that in these competitions starting with a win is fundamental.”

Ronaldo said that too Manchester United is “a closed chapter”, emphasizing that he is “exclusively focused on the World Cup”.

“We went in, we won, we’re doing well”, Ronaldo added.

“The rest is not important. The most important thing is the World Cup.”
