Faces of Football: Ghana – a letter to the national team

Dear Ghana National Team,

Firstly, I would like to express my delight in your qualification for yet another FIFA World Cup and congratulations to all who made this great achievement possible. To all of you I say ‘ayekoo’ (well done).

As an ambitious and optimistic Ghana supporter, I really believe you can go very far at the tournament this winter. Honestly, I think you go through at least the group stage and from there potentially become the first African team to make it to a World Cup semi-final.

After watching all your qualifying matches and your performances at previous World Cups, I am truly convinced that you will be able to make history this winter and prove that Ghana is the greatest African football country.

To the coach and management staff, I wish you all the very best in looking after the squad and I hope you make the smart tactical decisions needed to help our beloved country go far in the tournament. To the players themselves, we hope you give everything you have to make history for Ghana.

Everyone in the country will be cheering you on during the tournament. We hope we can motivate you with our cheer and propel you to success.

It is every Ghanaian’s dream to win the World Cup and prove to the world how great we are. I truly believe you are the team to do just that.

I wish you good luck at the tournament!

Go Black Stars, go!
